Missing her smile today...

Vicki's night was restful for the most part. The medication causes her to sweat a lot so I was wiping her face with a cold damp cloth most of the night. The family meeting with her physicians has been rescheduled for Wednesday due to scheduling conflicts with the physicians.

Her temperature continues to fluctuate and is around 101 this evening. She has been fairly sedated today due to a slight change with her pain medication this afternoon. We have missed seeing her smile today.

It was wonderful to see Vicki's smile yesterday, and at that time her fever was 102o. So I will take it as good news that her fever was down a degree. Dr. Huddleston said (2.1.08) that removing the PIC line was one step in trying to remove any cause for the fever. Aaron then asked him how long it would take for us to know if the fever was going down, for that reason. Dr. H. said, "2 or 3 days." I think most of us think of a fever as responding more quickly than that. So the fact that it is down to 101o is good news.
I told Vicki then: 'You must feel encouraged! Do not be discouraged. You are doing so well. It just takes a long time to get well. Visualize your arms healing and your legs healing and your body healing.' [There are reasonably good studies that show that visualizing successful outcomes make these outcomes more likely to achieve.] I tried to say all that to Vicki. Most of it got through. She then said to me, 'Thank you.' She is such a dear person, and has so much love!

We pray for Vicki and family daily. I hope you see her smile very soon. She's lucky to have such a wonderful group of family and friends.

Thanks for all the prayers still going up for my Vicki. Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful deeds.
I sit with Vicki mostly in the afternoon. She still thinks she is in the hospital with a baby, but maybe this is Heavenly Fathers way of making it easy for her. She will be moved to Bristol Hospital tomorrow and we are hoping 4 weeks there will be the step to getting her home. Vicki has breathed a lot today on her on, this we are thankful for.
Once again thanks to all of you, and may Heavenly Father also bless you for giving us the support we have needed through this.
No words can express our thanks to you.
Thanks Lana for being at my side when Vicki coded..Never will I forget......
Love to all of you, Stella (mom)
