All is going well...

I was with Vicki for several hours tonight. They have changed her pain medication and she doesn't seem to be as confused anymore. She still "sees things" from time to time and has never stopped thinking she has a baby in her room that needs to be taken care of. I'm sure this will continue to subside as her pain medicine decreases.

Her injuries are continuing to heal, but her fever continues to fluctuate. They did an ultrasound on her legs yesterday to make sure there were no blood clots -luckily there were none. Her time on c-pap continues to increase (as mentioned before, this is a weaning process from the vent).

Holly was feeling better and was able to come to the hospital tonight. She, Lucas and I bathed Vicki and washed her hair (not an easy task). She gets frightened when she's turned and thinks she can't breathe. We have to calm her down by reminding her to breathe slowly and deeply. As I did this for her, a sweet memory came to my mind of how she has been with me (and several of our other sisters) through the births of my children. She is the best labor coach ever!! She has such a loving way about her and I am so grateful to be able to care for her at this time.

Thank you for your comments. Aaron checks the blog each night before going to bed. Thank you again for your concern for Vicki and the many prayers that have been spoken on her behalf. We will forever be grateful.

Dear Sweet Kids. My kids too, for I love you all. Don't forget that I am the oldest member of this family which makes me special. Ha. I am so proud of each one of you. Aaron, I wish I was there to give you an extra hug. To Holly, you are a wonderful daughter to Vicki. I know she loves you for taking such good care of her.Take care of yourself and get your strength back so you can be the nurse again. To the Relief Society President- You are so special and always make me feel better when I read the updates on Vicki. It is hard being so far away from family at a time like this. Continue the good work. The Lord is well aware of what all of you are going through and is watching over you. It is in His hands. Thank Him for his Atonement and the suffering He did for each one of us. He will never leave our side if we don't leave Him. Take care of your Mom and Dad. They are in a lot of pain also, and are not getting any younger.Give Vicki my love and let her know we are praying for her and her name is on the temple prayer roll. Love to all of you. My name is Trick, I'm Stella's first cousin. We live in K.C. Missouri. I have been reading Vickie's up-dates just about every day and it is wonderful to see her progress and to know the Lord is with her. WE have had Vickie and the rest of the family on our prayer request at church and I can see His work through all this. So keep the faith and let Vickie know we will continue to pray for her. Let Stella know we have all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Love Trick

Just want all of you to know that you are all in my prayers and I check the blog several times a day looking for updates. Vicki is a wonderful person and has been a great child care giver and I feel privileged and blessed with the care she gave to Savannah and Mandi over the years. Both girls love her dearly, and Ron and I do also. Love and prayers, Angela Vaughn

I haven't left a comment before because frankly I didn't/don't know what to say. Saying I'm so sorry seems trite.
Everyday, however, I pray for Vicki and all of her family. I know our Heavenly Father is watching over all of you, and I know that the family is strengthened in times of need.
Give Vicki our love, and tell her never forget that she is a loved daughter of God.
